4th Reflection
On September 18th 2019, I have
prepared video lesson using Camtasia to teach the students of class VI about the
types of family in the real classroom situation.
The children have learnt about the family in
class V. This time they are taught types of family and the relationship. Thus, for effective delivery and in the
interest of time I have integrated video tutorial. I have shown video tutorial
on the types of family and the main objective was to let children understand
the type of family. The type of family i.e., ‘nuclear family and extended
family’ were projected with appropriate examples using the LCD projector. One
great advantage was, it can be played and paused any time in between to further
supplement the points which were left out.
Teaching them using video tutorial and further
supplementing the lesson by the teacher was found very successful. Children
were so interested to learn when ICT has been integrated in the daily lesson.
The children’s interest in learning helped them to learn better and effectively.
I have found that employing such ICT application has truly changed the face of
lesson delivery. Classroom with such digital learning tools greatly influence
the teaching and learning processes. Thus, I am truly convinced that in this
modern era, ICT plays pivotal role in teaching learning.
However, there were few challenges such as that I
had to show them the video tutorial for several times because there wasn’t much
interaction. I had to explain again and again on what was shown on the video
tutorial. This consumed little bit of time. The greatest impact of using ICT in
the lesson was that children learnt differently with outmost interest.
Good use of video tutorial in your lesson. Students might have enjoyed lot because it might be new method where you using your class. Keep on going and make your children best learners in future.
ReplyDeleteGood use of ict knowledge la. I found Video tutorial downloaded from the source and prepared by their tutor has vast difference in students learning la. From my experince, children learn better through video tutorial prepared by their teacher as they are much adapted to the language used by their teacher. If they are made to watch a video downloded from the source, they take more time to understand the concept as they are not use to the language. Thats my small findings la

Prepared video tutorial by their subject teacher works better than the downloaded video tutorial as per my experience. Children like to see their teacher speaking and explaining from the screen for the first time as well as the language that we speak is to the children's level. This helps them to understand the concept easily because they are adapted with our language. Lesson with video tutor makes the child to use all their sense organs during the teaching learning process. The activeness and the concentration becomes more than what is actually happening in the normal class. Those are what I found while using video tutorial.

ReplyDeleteIts a great idea of integration of ICT in your lesson and it will definitely become your class more interactive and children will really enjoy the lesson and enhanced their learning. Please, keep on exploring more ideas in future too.
ReplyDeleteYou have used the skills that you have learnt from the module ICT. For a change your children might have felt bit different from normal teaching and shown great interest. Today's learner does better with ICT and you have full filled their desires. With video tutorial the advantages we will have is play and pause for morw explanation from teachers side. One thing I would suggest you is your video tutorial need to short and brief otherwise children might feel bored and sleep. Good use of ICT indeed!!!

ReplyDeleteVideo tutorials seems nice in term of integrating ICT in our classrooms. Since the accent of some downloaded videos are not understandable or familiar to our students, these videos no not serves our objectives, so I personally feels that if we make our own video tutorial, it is better.you have done a great job sir.

ReplyDeleteWonderful to read your post. I do agree that children learn better through video tutorial but through my personal experience I feel that video tutorial is effective with higher classes only...I found it tough to use for lower classes students.

You could have provided your learners with few guiding questions which might help them from diverting their concentration

ReplyDeleteUsing ICT modes like cell phone, laptop etc helps the teacher a lot. It becomes more effective way of teaching because the YouTube videos, video tutorials etc show the clear concept of the lesson we opt to teach.

ReplyDeleteYou have used ict to deliver the lesson which is of good idea la. But my perception is that, if we make them to find information by themselves from the net, it would benefit them la. Just provide them the correct URL to locate the information. Provinding correct URL will safe time. Thats my feeling la.
